Caring Yarn Project
The Caring Yarn Project is back! This time we're knitting and crocheting preemie hats and sewing heart lovies.
1st Charity Knit for 2021!
Did you know that 1 in 10 babies are born too early in the U.S.? Friends of Tennessee babies provide care packages to the parents of premature babies in Blount County. We have been asked to help supply the boxes by knitting or crocheting preemie hats. The hats should be created in soft, washable yarn and in pleasing colors. Click here for patterns for both the knitted and crocheted hats.
In addition, a sewn heart is included in each care package. This heart is taken home each night by a parent who sleeps with it then brings it back next day to be put in the incubator. These hearts keep the parents close to their baby. Please sew the hearts from a soft fabric. Click here for the pattern or drop by Hook and Needle.
Please drop off any hats and hearts at Hook and Needle before July 6. Thanks for supporting your local community and showing that Hook and Needle customers care!
