Knit This Next
Knit This Next is a system to help new knitters find classes and projects that will help build skills and confidence in knitting. We'll offer a couple of classes each month that teach new skills. Always remember, if you're enjoying yourself and you're happy with your project then you're doing it right!
The different colored symbols indicate the skill level you need to start the class.
Green is the easiest level. You know how to knit and purl, but that's about it. Things you may learn in these classes include, but are not limited to: increasing, decreasing, working in the round, reading a written pattern, and how to choose yarn for a project. Projects will include hats, scarves, shawls, and more.
Yellow is the next step up. These are great for adventurous beginners or those that have come to a Green class or two. You know how to knit and purl, work in the round, and do basic increases and decreases. Things you may learn in these classes include, but are not limited to: magic loop, reading charts, lace, cables, garment shaping, and picking up stitches. Projects will include socks, sweaters, cowls, and more.
Don't be intimidate by the Red level! Once you've completed a Yellow level or two you're ready to tackle the more advanced techniques. You'll already have all the skills you need, it's just a matter of combining them in different ways. Things you may learn in these classes include, but are not limited to: designing your own pattern, working from a chart only, combining multiple techniques, and more. Projects can be anything, and are limited only by your imagination!
