Beyond The Basic Sock ~ Ice Cream on a Rainy Day
In this series of "Going Beyond Making A Basic Sock" classes, we have been exploring new techniques and perfecting the old.
This round we will be making the sock pattern "Ice Cream on a Rainy Day" by Knit Share Love, which is toe up. Use your circular knitting technique of choice, superwash sock yarn and either size 1 or 1.5 needles to get a gauge of 8 stitches per inch. If you would like to try the toes, heels and/or ribbing in another color, this is a good pattern to try this effect. This pattern shows up best in a solid, semi-solid, or a lightly variegated yarn. Avoid dark colors, unless for the toes/cuffs/heel.
In this class we will cover:
- Judy's Magic Loop or Turkish Cast On
- Paired Increases - Either Make 1's or YO's
- Planned afterthought heel
- Adjusting for not having a gusset
- Tubular Bind Off
- Optional-Working 2 at a time
Three part Sock Class: Saturdays: 11- 1pm, October 19, November 2, November 9
