Let’s Bang Out a Sweater Together in October!

If you’ve never made a sweater but want to, OR if you’ve made 200 sweaters, join us for our store-wide Knit A Long – Sweater Sprint!

We will provide guides and pit stops to help keep you on track to knit an entire sweater, cast on to blocking, in the month of October, AND it’s FREE to do!!! Fun prizes and a drawing at the end for one lucky person that finishes their sweater.

Guidelines:

-You need to buy your yarn at Hook & Needle!  We have lots of options for aran/chunky weight yarns that will be perfect for this pattern: Cascade 128, Jewelspun, Jewelspun Chunky with Wool, or Noventa (We also have LANG Cloud and LANG Cloud Funky on the way!)

-Download the pattern on Ravelry.  We will be knitting the Step by Step Sweater by Florence Miller.  It’s a free pattern designed for a total beginner and has video support as well.

-Cast on October 1. We are gonna take a Polaroid of you with your yarn purchase and your picture will be on our bulletin board in the shop. 

-Check in weekly (every Thursday) with proof of your progress. You can check in by posting a picture of your sweater and tagging us on social media - #hnsweatersprint2026 or by texting a picture of your sweater progress to the store phone number. We will then move your picture on to the next step in the race!

-Celebrate with us on Friday, October 30 for a finishing party from 3:00pm to 6:00pm!  Bind off and weave in ends while enjoying some snacks and drinks on us!

-All finishers will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Hook and Needle gift card and also get an exclusive Finisher button! You must submit your entry by the end of the day on October 31.
