Building Blocks, July, Filet Crochet Square
The Filet crochet uses a combination of open and closed mesh stitches to create image words, and patterns. Master the technique with this simplified square. We will work in stitches and spaces as needed throughout the pattern.
Each month we will offer a new Sampler Square class/technique. Edna's expert guidance will help you master new textures and stitches to develop a more versatile crochet toolkit.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Students should be proficient in basic crochet skills such as chain, single crochet, double crochet. These skills will not be taught during this session.
YOU WILL LEARN: foundation single crochet
MATERIALS NEEDED: Any worsted weight yarn, Crochet Hook size J (6mm). We recommend Cascade 220 for this project.
The pattern we will use is Crochet Amour Sampler by Toni Lipsey, Edna's favorite patter designer! This pattern is available from Raverly.com and includes patterns for 20 unique crocheted squares.
