Are you ready to check off a New Years Resolution? This is the perfect project to learn beginning colorwork. This pattern began as one of our "Sock of the Month" socks in 2025. We loved the design so much that we thought it would make a great cowl!
Our masterknitter, Maryann, modified the Cube Illusion Socks by Aggie Knits into a lovely cowl. Students will need to purchase the sock pattern from Ravelry here: CUBE ILLUSION to use the chart for this cowl. The cowl instructions are included in the class fee.
SKILLS REQUIRED: This class is perfect for Adventurous Beginners. Students should be comfortable knitting, purling and knitting in the round. These skills will not be taught in this class.
YOU WILL LEARN: Basics of stranded colorwork; changing between colors; and how to read a chart.
MATERIALS: Three contrasting colors of any DK weight yarn of your choice. US size 5 circular needle. Stitch marker.
Yarn recommendations: Woolpaka Lite, Haworth Tweed, Anchor Bay
HOMEWORK: After signing up for this class and purchasing the Cube Illusions pattern, we will provide you with the modifications for the cowl instructions. You will need to complete the cast on and beginning ribbing portion before class time. We will begin class at the colorwork portion of the cowl.
