Demystifying the Ranunculus

The Ranunculus might just be the most popular sweater pattern on Ravelry.  It has been made at least 27,000 (yes, THOUSAND) times!!  It debuted in 2017 on Ravelry and has been THE HOT sweater ever since.  

In our three part workshop, Christine and Wendy will deconstruct, debunk, demystify this sweater just for you!

WHEN:  3 Sessions:  Sundays, April 6, 13, 27 from 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Session 1: Casting on and yoke construction

Session 2:  Raglan increases and choosing your size/fitting

Session 3:  Finishing the body and choosing your sleeve style

Skills Required:  This is an Intermediate Workshop.  Students MUST be able to knit in the round and be proficient in: knitting, purling, long tail cast on, reading a pattern.  Students MUST swatch for this class in order to get a good fit for your sweater.

Materials Needed:  DK or Worsted Yarn, Needles, Stitch Markers Pattern for the Ranunculus by Midori Hirose

Note about Yarn:  This pattern can be knitted with any weight yarn.  Yes, it's THAT versatile, but we recommend a DK or worsted weight in any fiber of your choice.  Even holding two fingering weight yarns together would work.  Please, AVOID highly speckled or variegated yarn because it will hide the yoke pattern.  

Note about Needles:  Please bring needles 2 sizes smaller than your gauge needle AND 2 sizes larger than gauge needle to class.

HOMEWORK:  For Session One: Bring a 4x4 inch blocked swatch made with your preferred yarn and needles recommended for your yarn/gauge, plus needles 2 sizes above and below your recommended needle size.
