Learn essential skills for any knitting pro with Finishing Techniques. Master the mattress stitch and find out what a three needle bind off is, how it looks, what it does!  Plus, make weaving in all those ends a breeze (well, almost) with one of our favorite techniques by one of our favorite designers:  The Weavin Stephen (by Stephen West).

This class is perfect for those who want to learn some basic tools to help make your finished pieces a smooth success!

You Will Learn:  3-Needle Bind Off,  Mattress Stitch (perfect for piecing any knitted project that is...well.... in pieces. Sweaters, squares for an afghan, etc), and Weavin' Stephen

Skills Required:  Students should be able to knit and purl with ease.

Materials Required and Homework:  

For 3- needle bind-off:   Using scrap Worsted weight yarn, make two identical, stockinette swatches:  cast on 12 stitches, row 1 knit, row 2 purl. repeat these rows until 12 rows are complete. Leave stitches live on the needle.

For mattress stitch:  Using scrap Worsted weight yarn, make two identical, stockinette swatches, as above.  Swatches should be at least 15 stitches wide by 15 rows long. 
Tapestry needle and scissors. 

For weaving in ends: a circular needle at least size 6 and extra worsted yarn.
