Helical Knitting and the Jogless Join
Couldn't load pickup availability
Come join us to make a hat learning helical knitting and the joggles join. In this class you will learn the many uses of helical knitting. Everyone who has knitted in the round is doing helical knitting. Most appreciate it because they no longer have to seam the garment together. A great use of this technique is for hand dyed yarn in a multiple skein project worked in the round. You can mix up to 3 skeins at a time to a more evenly distribute color and tonal changes from skein to skein.
Skills Required: Knit and purl in the round.
What You Will Learn: How to do one by one stripes without crossing yarns and creating a seam on the wrong side. You will also learn 2 and 3 color single striping. Within this method it creates joggles join which can be used in multiple row stripes so that they line up evenly.
Materials Needed: 2 or 3 colors of any DK weight yarn. (Sample was made in Miss Babs Yowza). US 4(3.5mm) & US 6(4mm) 16" circulars or size needed to get 20sts in 4" on larger needles. Pick up the pattern at the shop and have ribbing done for class.
