Lexi has another intermediate/adventurous beginner course.  Filet crochet is a technique that uses double crochet stitches and chain stitches to create a grid of open and filled squares, forming pictures and text. The mesh-like fabric is traditionally worked in single colors.  This is an intro on how to make Filet Crochet from scratch with your own patterns!

Skills Required: Need to know these basic stitches before this class: slipknot, slipstitch, chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, and double crochet.

You Will Learn: How to use the free version of Stitch Fiddle for ease in pixel pattern reading. What stitches are best/what yarns/hooks/methods being most effective in being able to see your image clearly. How to avoid mistakes (as best you can). How to map out your pattern into a filet-friendly layout (math lesson!)

Materials Needed:  Any worsted weight or heavier-dk yarn and a 5.5mm hook (I-9). We recommend Cascade 220 or Cascade Nifty Cotton.  The pattern will be provided the day of class.
