Learn how to make your first pair of top down socks using the Magic Loop Technique! The Crazy Sock Lady has written a very clear, easy pattern for beginner sock knitters and she has video support for her patterns.
Skills learned: How to knit magic loop and construct a sock from the top down.
Materials: One skein of DK weight yarn - we recommend Cascade 220 yarn. One US 6 32 or 40 inch needle. Stitch markers, darning needle.
Prerequisites: MUST BE PROFICIENT in knitting, purling and magic loop knitting. These will not be taught in class.
Homework: Please cast on the number of stitches that the pattern calls for in your size and knit the cuff (knit 2, purl 2 for 10 rounds). Most people will want the medium size unless you have a very large foot. Please come to class with your pattern printed.
Pattern: DK Vanilla Socks by Kay Litton (The Crazy Sock Lady) is available here on Ravelry.com.
