Ohmu Shawl

If you love contrasting colors and fun textures, then Ohmu is just for you!!  A perfect lightweight spring/summer accessory designed with artist Hayao Miyazaki in mind. It’s a fast and fun knit that combines garter stitch with a contrasting color bobble row. 

Skills Required:   This is an intermediate shawl class.  Students should be proficient in knitting, purling, reading a pattern

You Will Learn:   The basics of point to point shawl construction, increases and decreases, stitching that creates a small bobble

Materials Needed:  Two contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn.  ~300 yards of Main Color (darker color pictured) and ~ 140 yards of lighter Contrasting Color.  Our newest yarn Sweet Georgia would be perfect for this pattern!  Needles: size US 4, 24 inch circular

Homework:  Please have yarn wound and ready before class begins.  Also, have your own personal copy of the pattern Ohmu Shawl by Lavanya Patricella
