Sheepy Steeky Coasters (Skill Building)

You dream of steeking, but you’re afraid to take the plunge? The Sheepy Steeky Coasters are a great introduction to this technique! They feature steeks that are stabilized by crocheted stitches, and then cut! It works! Trust us!! You'll be cutting away on your knits in no time! ;)
Skills Required: This is an Intermediate class. Students should be able to knit and purl proficiently AND be comfortable with colorwork. These skills will not be taught during this class.
Materials: Yarn: Two contrasting colors of DK or worsted weight 100% wool, such as Quince Lark available here: Lark Wool. In addition, approximately 4 yards of fingering weight 100% wool, in a different color than the colorwork yarn, for crocheted steek. Superwash wool or Acrylic is not recommended for this project.
Needles: 16-inch circular US #6 or US #7 needle and Crochet hook about 2 sizes smaller.
Notions: Tapestry needle, 4 stitch markers, sharp scissors for cutting the steekysheepy
