It's giving season time, so we have a fun skill building project that you can make for someone special or for yourself. The Sunburst Potholder by Purl Soho is a free pattern (who doesn't love a free pattern)! The potholder is like a ray of light, breaking through the clouds, that brightens your day with its clever construction and vintage charm.
Skills Required: basic knitting skills
What You Will Learn: simple short rows, provisional cast on with crochet hook, and 3 needle bind off.
Materials: 2 contrasting colors of DK or worsted weight yarn (we recommend Nifty Cotton and/or Nifty Cotton), US 5 (3.75mm), G (4mm) crochet hook, scrap yarn (for provisional cast on), spare circular or DPN US 5 or smaller (for 3 needle bind off), pattern from Purl Soho.
This class will be in 2 sessions. The first session will be walking through the cast on, and short rows. The second session will be finishing the project. You will be joining the ends of the project by removing the provisional cast on and learning the 3 needle bind off.
