Sweater Camp - Shruff's End

It's time to go Camping! The only camping I'm in for involves knitting, eating and FUN!

For this first Camp of 2026 I wanted to go with something that's transitional, timeless & TEXTURED! Living in East Tennessee, you just don't know if you need a parka or a sundress to go out from day-to-day. So, let's add a vest for perfect layering in between! Plus...no Sleeves!!

I saw this pattern 'Shruff's End' by Thea Colman on What's Hot Right Now on Ravelry and I had a hunch it was perfect for Camp. Turns out I was right. I knit 8 inches of it in 4 days! The cables are simple but look so intricate and are extremely addictive.

Also note, if this Vest is not your Jam but you still want to Camp then by all means, Join US! Bring the project of your choice.

Grab some yarn: I'm using Yowza but any Heavy DK/ Worsted weight will work. Try Cascade 220, EcoHighland Duo, Malabrigo Rios, or Alpaca Lino if you are allergic to wool. I would suggest that you go with more solid/ tonal hues for the body so that you can enjoy all your cable work but then you could bust out some color for the ribbing if you like.

Most importantly, pack your project bag with everything you need for a TWO day in store retreat in the Studio.  We will talk yarn, make new friends, EAT, and knit until our fingers ache. This is a casual event aimed at uninterrupted knitting time and for building relationships with like-minded fiber friends. Some help will be available for minor mishaps, but Camp is not an instructional lecture-based event.
