Knit Your Next Step — Learn to Knit a Beanie!

Ready to take your knitting skills to the next level? If you’ve just completed our Learn to Knit class and are ready for your next project, this two-session class is for you! We’ll take the skills you already know and build on them as you learn to knit a cozy, wearable beanie from start to finish.

Skills Required: Beginning Knitting class or equivalent basic knitting skills.

What You Will Learn: How to read and follow a knitting pattern, how to knit in the round, practice both knit and purl stitches, how to work decreases to shape your beanie, how to weave in your ends and finish your project neatly.

Materials Needed:  Any worsted or Aran weight yarn, US 6 (4mm) or US 8(5mm) 16" circular needles.  Pattern is here on Raverly. 

This class will be in 2 sessions.  The first class you will cast on, learn to join in the round, and begin working on the two sections of garter stitch and stockinette stitch according to the pattern. The second class we will learn to work decreases in the round, finishing off the work, weaving in the ends, and discuss blocking.
